EXPERIENCE

Associate Scientist III, NOAA PSL / CU CIRES, Boulder
— 2022 ~ present
Working on ocean data analysis and managment. Currently focusing on developeing the climate, ecosystems, and fisheries initiative data portal (NOAA). Have developed and maintained the first research-to-operation NOAA global heatwave (MHW) portal which provide MHW forecast with lead time up to a year.

Postdoctoral Fellow, Colorado State University, Fort Collins
— 2020 ~ 2021
Working on the DOE funded project with Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) with PI - Dr. Charlotte DeMott. The analyses focus on the processes in the upper ocean and lower atmosphere, and their scale interactions and how biases in the ocean may affect the atmosphere, and vice versa. The analyses particular emphasize on the heat, moisture, and momentum budget and its comparison with the available in-situ and satellite observations.

Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Arizona, Tucson
— 2019 ~ 2020
Working on the NOAA funded project of analyzing CMIP6/OMIP model performance on simulating Pacific sea level by comparing with available observational datasets with PI - Dr. Jianjun Yin. Also working on the extreme event analyses involve ENSO and identifying critical ocean-atmospheric processes. Developing the NOAA Model Diagnostics Task Force process-oriented diagnostics package

Postdoctoral Researcher, University of California, Irvine
— 2017 ~ 2018
Participating the NASA sea level team project lead by PI - Isabella Velicogna by providing decadal ice sheets and hydrological data from GRACE. Extending the cryospheric data to determine the sea level accelerating signal.

Graduate Research Assistant, University of California, Irvine
— 2011 ~ 2017
Created a public access sea level database and engaged in part of the first NASA sea level change science team project by deriving each sea level component and performing sea level fingerprint sensitivity test.

Teaching Assistant, University of California, Irvine
— 2011 ~ 2017
Helped undergraduates gain understanding of the courses by leading weekly discussions and labs to teach extra-curriculum knowledge and data analysis tools (e.g., IDL, MATLAB, and ENVI).

Research Assistant, National Taiwan University
— 2010 ~ 2011
Studied the relationship of climate change and typhoon by analyzing the typhoon-related rainfall in the Taiwan area in the past 40 years. Organized the interdisciplinary education conference lead by prof. Hung-Chi Kuo.

Teaching Assistant, National Taiwan University
— 2009 ~ 2010
Helped guide undergraduate on the atmospheric modeling assignment and assisted the grading in courses.

Student Assistant in Real-time Weather Forecasting Lab, National Taiwan University
— 2007 ~ 2008
Helped organize and update weather forecasting data provided by various international forecasting centers.
